WGRC Honored for News Coverage!

WGRC, for the thirteenth year in a row, received the
Outstanding Membership Cooperation award from the Associated
Press for news coverage provided in 2007.
WGRC's news
department has again been honored by the Pennsylvania
Associated Press Broadcasters Association. The
annual banquet was held April 5, 2008 in Pittsburgh, PA.
WGRC
was recognized with 1st place honors in two categories:
Spot News Coverage - "Hummels Wharf Business
Fire": Don Casteline and Jim Diehl team up to provide reports
from a burning dental
business in Snyder County.
Sports Play-By-Play - "WGRC Friday Night Game of
the Week": Don Casteline, Play-By-Play; Glenn Smith, Color
Announcer; Terry
Burke, Field Reporter; Jim Diehl, Producer team up to bring the action of two teams bound for the playoffs battle on the final week of the season. This wildly entertaining seesaw matchup featuring the Jersey Shore Bulldogs and Mifflinburg Wildcats goes down to the final possession.

Radio Sound (contained in Jim Diehl’s feature titled, “New Berlin Rope Swing Retirement”)

Public Affairs (for a talk program titled “Drug Abuse: There Is Hope”. The program was hosted by Larry Weidman and produced by David Nelson)
